Position Summary:
In conjunction with the Engineering and Manufacturing Teams, the Electrical Controls Engineer’s key responsibilities include designing and developing control systems and complete automated production cells using CNCs, Robots, PLCs, HMIs, and all peripherals required to accomplish the required goals for manufacturing luxury motor yacht components.
Job Responsibilities:
- This individual will be responsible for the design, integration, and interfacing of CNC machines, robots, sensors, actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics and all peripherals required to create automated production cells.
- Ability to program PLCs, HMIs, CNCs, Robots and Robotic systems with languages like RS-274 (G-Code), Karel, Fanuc and Yaskawa Robot Languages, PLC (ladder, script function block, etc.), HMI development, and familiar with Modbus, EtherCat, Ethernet/IP, Mechatrolink, and other data transfer protocols.
- Additional duties involve testing and validating new and modified systems, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards, provide training, and continuously improving system performance.
- Heavily involved with electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, safety circuits, peripheral device selection and programming, machine power-up, debug, and validation/buyoff.
- This individual with provide support to maintenance with trouble shooting to solve production/machine issues and maintaining control systems to minimize downtime.
- Project management, parts selection, BOM creation, electrical drawing, and creating technical documentation for the assigned tasks and projects.
