Monumental is automating on-site construction with cutting-edge robotics and software. Our mission is to redefine construction through software and robots. We aim for a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are built within a single day with minimal labor.

We’re a growing team (about 100 team members) of mostly engineers and technicians, coming from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, Meta and 1X. It’s still the early days of building the company, and this is a unique opportunity to be an early employee in a high-growth, high-ambition startup environment. From Day 1, you’ll be able to work with an experienced founding team backed by top-tier investors.

About You and This Role

We’re looking for someone to join our Executive Operations team who thrives on variety, complex problem-solving, and the challenge of keeping a fast-paced, hard-tech start-up running smoothly. You’ll be the trusted organiser for our CEO and leadership team, as well as the driving force behind operational improvements that make our workplace more efficient, enjoyable, and productive.

Monumental is a unique company in that we’re solving the problem of on-site construction with a vertically integrated offering. We’re a hard tech company doing real R&D, financed through venture funding. We manufacture our hardware in-house, manage a complex supply chain, and deploy masonry robots to construction sites across the Netherlands.

You'll work directly with our CEO, supporting him across everything that keeps his day running well. That means owning his inbox and calendar, yes, but also being the person who quietly figures out the hard things, whether that's sorting a last-minute travel issue, getting fast-track through the airport, or chasing down an answer on a tax question before he even has to ask.

This is a role for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in doing this kind of work brilliantly. If you're looking to move into strategy or operations down the line, this probably isn't the right fit. If you take real pride in flawless execution, extreme attention to detail, and being the person your CEO can rely on completely, read on.

What You Might Be Working On

  • The CEO's inbox. You'll triage, draft, and respond to emails on his behalf. Nothing gets missed, and nothing requires him to chase.

  • His calendar. You'll plan and protect his schedule, making active decisions about what deserves his time and what doesn't. You'll keep buffers real and prep time sacred.

  • Travel. End-to-end logistics for trips, including the kind of proactive problem-solving that turns a chaotic travel day into a smooth one.

  • Follow-through. You'll track action items from meetings, chase open threads, and make sure commitments don't slip.

  • Admin. VAT, receipts, invoices, the personal stuff that needs to be done properly.

  • Whatever it takes. If something is getting in the CEO's way, you remove it. The scope is broad by design.

  • Visitor experience. When press, investors, or partners visit, you'll coordinate the details, including at Monumental, things like arranging appropriate safety footwear for site visits.

What we’re looking for

  • You're comfortable in environments where the playbook is still being written, and you're energised rather than unsettled by that.

  • You have a basic grasp of how startups work. You know the difference between a Seed and a Series B, and you're genuinely excited to be part of that journey.

  • You think in terms of outcomes for the person you support. Everything you do is in service of making their time and attention more effective.

  • You have a knack for keeping things (and people) on track, with high attention to detail.

  • You have the innate ability to “figure things out”: you are resourceful, persistent, and able to constantly unblock yourself, even when you encounter novel problems and situations.

  • You are tech-savvy. We don’t expect you to be an engineer, but you are comfortable adopting new tools quickly, and you’re aware of all the best practices in supporting a high-tech company. You already know what “two-factor authentication” is, and no one needs to tell you to enable it.

  • You know how and when to over-communicate and naturally close loops. People rarely have to check in on you.

  • You're discreet. You'll have access to sensitive conversations and information, and you treat that with the care it deserves.

  • Comfortable with multitasking and switching contexts throughout the day. You stay calm under pressure and don't lose the details when things move fast.

  • Fluent in verbal and written English & Dutch.
